Population Pyramids

Today in class we started by reviewing what we learned last class. We learned about Population Pyramids. There are three basic shapes. They are called The Christmas Tree, the Box, and The Cup. We divide and categorize population into these groups in oder to help us to be able to remember the details of the population. When I say details I'm referring tot things such as the different genders that change and effect the environment and population of a location. We looked at examples of Population Pyramids and tried to decipher what type of pyramid it was categorized by. We noticed that certain things affected the odd differences between age and gender. We realized this was due to college years, all girls college, beaches that are good for retirement, and much more. Of course, Florida was a great example of age difference. This was a drastic difference. This is because older people enjoy settling down in a warm place. We had a great class.
