More on Project

Today in class we worked more on our group project. Here is the portion that I wrote of our chapter. Ancient Greece had a unique and relatively harsh environment. It became difficult to travel and trade due to the mountainous land that Greece was. Approximately ¾ of Greece was filled with mountains. This lead to the development of small, independent communities, instead of one government. Due to the mountainous environment, the fertile soil made farming especially difficult. Because Greece is a mountainous peninsula, it became accessible to many locations. This put them in a good position to obtain resources through trade. The first civilizations in Greece were focused around rivers. Additionally, the three main seas that surround Greece are the Adriatic, Ionian, Mediterranean, and Aegean Sea. Greece is not only an aesthetically beautiful country, but a strong community that learned to survive through the lack of resources their land provided for them.
